EAST London – Eight-year-old Ayesha’s killers – her mother and the woman who was her mother’s lover – were jailed for thirteen and eighteen years. Both were convicted of manslaughter. Little Ayesha was found in her bedroom with more than 50 injuries including bite marks in August 2013.  Her mother Polly Chowdury had according to the judge ‘disgracefully failed’ her child. Whilst Kiki Muddar was described as a ‘manipulative, wicked woman’. Muddar had rang the police on August 29 to tell them that Chowdury had tried to commit suicide and that Ayesha was dead. Chowdury told the court Ayesha had been hurt after Muddar had given her a cold bath for wetting herself. Both women were cleared of murder.
